I am an Industrial Designer, obsessed with product integration. Paramount to the mindset I bring to design is a thorough and continuous interrogation of the “why” and “how”

Intro

The following work was done for Material Bank, a professional tool for interior designers to sample and specify materials. The featured project should be thought of as one aggregate, in order to get a true understanding of the strategic thinking that went into the brand development.

Mantra

It is my fervent belief that industrial designers have a profound responsibility to ask “why?” at every stage of a project from conception to implementation.

Physical products -as they relate to the ecosystems they inhabit, the consumer needs they fulfill, the production methods that bring them to life, and the afterlife opportunities- need to be constantly justified and interrogated.

I believe industrial designers are gate keepers to the physical world, and as such we need to strive to pull together complete life cycles. This means integration with existing and emerging digital products and services. In some manifestations, this means advocating against physical expressions of the complicated challenges we find ourselves exploring.
